About Colin


Colin Hennessy is an Independent Line Producer and Coordinator.  

After beginning his career with two award-winning college broadcast television shows, he moved from Michigan to Los Angeles to expand his expertise into film and television. Colin has worked and lived in Los Angeles for the past seven years. Colin to dedicate himself to coordinating, on-set management and producing. In 2014, he was selected to produce five episodes of the Emmy Award-winning series “Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope.” The show is currently airing on PBS and is broadcast both nationwide and in Canada. With the success of the travel show, he has been working for the past 4 years as a Production Coordinator, Unit Production Manager, and Line Producer. Colin has experience from small indie horror shorts to Blockbuster studio productions. No project is too big or too small. Colin is proficient in Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling, Filemaker, Google Suite, Shotgun, and many other organizational programs.
 
Colin became a Production Coordinator for Ignition Creative, a television and film ad agency, where he helped coordinate a number of award-winning and nationally televised spots. Since then, he has worked on a number of commercials, films, and television shows. He has worked with clients and A-List talent to deliver the best possible product for promotion. For Colin, consistently working to deliver clear, concise, and efficient productions in film, commercial and television is of the utmost importance.

With experience in film production, commercial spots and both reality and scripted television, I am proficient in overseeing projects from inception to completion. I have managed both small and large crews. I have executed budgets, negotiated deals with crew, talent, locations, suppliers, and have overseen highly confidential material. In addition, I have experience obtaining filming permits and police supervision, as well as managing travel logistics, scheduling, set logistics, and client interfacing. I work with production, accounting, and post teams to cover the entirety of any production job.

  • Hiring of production staff
  • Contracting staff on production
  • Ensuring Insurance is in place for production & key staff and talent
  • Overseeing all Health & Safety on location and providing necessary Risk Assessments
  • Liaison with all members of production at all stages of production
  • Presence on location/studio for all shoots
  • Ensuring accuracy of payroll information and approval of invoice/purchase orders 
  • Petty cash reconciliation of daily expenditure on production
  • Credit card reconciliation
  • Overseeing edit schedule
  • Clearance of music and archive
  • Ensure final delivery

Training & Certifications:

  • B.A.A. in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts from Central Michigan University
  • Apple Final Cut Pro Certified
  • Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling
  • SSI/PADI Diving License
